This is a picture of Martin the rooster's beloved chair collection. He's the kind of guy who can't drive past a chair on the side of the road without taking it home and fixing it up. Well, sometimes he fixes them up, a lot of the time they just get added to the ever growing brokeny tree forest in the garage.
Miriam the hen finds this all very vexing.
Martin's Chair Collection - Limited Edition Print
I have had an urge for some time... The urge to knit! It's pretty hard to avoid an urge like this, I mean, haven't you heard it's the new yoga? Wha? Whoa, anyway, I bought some disgustingly expensive yarn this weekend and am part way through... yeah, you guessed it, a scarf! I'm not totally new to the concept of knitting, at the first school I went to all the little boys and girls were required to knit a recorder case. You can imagine how these little beauties turned out:

I suspect my scarf will look something like these (already there is a resemblance*) perhaps a little more scarf-like but then you never know...
Peacock Print GIVEAWAY! See details below.
*Hey, hey, it's... Garter stitch!

sounds to me as though Martin is just doing what he can to recycle, miriam needs to chill a little : )
I'd say Martin has some pretty good taste and that Miriam should be happy she has such a fashionable rooster.
you always choose the most beautiful and lively colours for your prints. i love that orange!
Oh...how I love this!!! I confess...I AM Martin and I live with Miriam and yes...we truly have a chair forest in the garage! You are really an amazing artist, but what I love most is how you tell such incredible stories with images (your words help too!).
Got so caught up in your chickens that I forgot to say "happy knitting!" Your scarf is looking great!
I so wish I could knit, whenever I am pregnant I feel the need to knit and it never ends well. Maybe I need to just have more children until I perfect the craft.
Yes, congratultions Cindy!
It's funny this being shy and nervous about your craft thing but wanting to do it all the same. I too have found the support I have received on-line invaluable. I really think most women work well in groups, with the internet it's like sitting around the table working away with a group of chums!
Stay strong and good luck with the promotion!
Hmmm, morning madness.
Here I've gone and posted a comment meant for cindy on this blog instead of hers and because my computer is so "special" I can't seem to delete it.
Note to self: Do not post comments whilst still half asleep..
I think your knitting is looking good zukzuk ... I won't be going home for Christmas unfortunately ... maybe sometime next year. Watch out ... you'll start with a scarf and next thing you know you'll be knitting a dress with lace and cables! Its a very addictive pastime ... buying yarn is also very addictive, especially expensive yarn ... eek! Happy knitting and purling.
ss ... oh and thank YOU for being so inspiring!
I got the urge to crochet right now! A little faster for my taste, but the scarf is looking great. BTW, I tagged you and do hope you are in a playing mood.
As you know, I'm so glad to have found your blog - I've given you an award... http://fancypicnic.blogspot.com xx.
can't wait to receive my masked bear and weird hair!
Martin's got a great eye for design! Loving the lamp!
Can't wait to see the scarf done. I'm thinking maybe a virtual 'stitch & bitch' night might be in order ;)
Well, I am waiting for the day when you knit me socks :) The yarn looks great; as an aside for all us knitting bloggers, you must tell us what kind of yarn it is so that if we love it we can rush out the door to our nearest LYS to find it. The print is super cute and my mom is driving me crazy 'cause she keeps talking about the bird girl print...ALL THE TIME. I am not giving her mine. I love my mom, but I love my print too.
Love Love the Rooster and Chairs! I was inspired to use Zuk Zuk type birds on a recent piece..it is on my blog called Deep Warmth....
You are an inspiration!
Knitting is the new yoga! And I love that print. Oh yes and by the way I am a North American but am ashamed to say I've never been to New York. It's on the list.... :o)
