A bit late on the old G I V E A W A Y this month but here it is. Sleeping Tree is a new piece printed on gorgeous museum quality Hahnemule German etching paper.

Each month (usually around the beginning of the month, ahem) we play the giveaway game and all you need to do is leave me a comment - this month I'd love to know what you think the subject matter of one of my new prints should be - and you might be the one to get yourself a snazzy print in the mail!

Now that I'm back in good old Canada I get the chance to enjoy a delightful, chilly spring followed by another summer (I've been in the southern hemisphere for the last 4 months) which means 2 summers practically back to back! Sweet.

It's good to be reunited with the old computer and art supplies again, I'm gonna be whipping up a bit of a storm so watch out!

G I V E A W A Y draw date? Oh, let's say a couple of weeks from today shall we.

And I know what you're thinking about this one. You're thinking this should be called Jelly Bean Birds Gone Bonkers or something. Right? It's good and juicy loud. I like me the Jelly Bean Birds. I Like it so much I decided to rework it with an even feistier colourway. Roawrrrr!

Happy Spring/Autumn!

Oh, it's beutiful, I love the quirky little owl. ^_^

Hm...I was visited by a fat and loud buzzing-bumblebee the other day. Maybe a happy bumble-bee print? It's a reminder for me that spring is here. :)

Heehoo clouch, awesome. I got wraxwea on yours. I think the words lend themselves quite well to poetry.

As for the new print, I'm voting for something moss related. I'm seeing moss and lichen everywhere and I think some sort of 'mini' landscape would suit you well. Something along the lines of 'my small world' but with a limited color palette and maybe more delicate tiny plants?

That would be fabuuuulous.

:D

Glad you're well! I need to get my act together and send you something nice one of these days.

Love the new print!

I like the little fox so much, so how about a pile of sleeping foxes in front of their den, all interconnected--sort of like your "bear hug" print? Or, to celebrate spring, a robot family picnic? :) (I was just looking at the hilarious robot head print in your etsy shop...)

Welcome back from your travels and have a lovely spring!

Oh what colourful little birdies. I love your artwork. What about some Canada geese for a future print or maybe a beaver?

I love this new one. Love the bright jelly bean-esque quality. LOVE the fox.

Right now what I am wishing you would create is a western cowboy type of thing as I am redecorating Tyler's room ;) I have some retro fabric (cowboy) for the duvet cover. I need some vintage art for $20 or less!

Sad to be back? 4 months over there must have been fab.

Beautiful colors in this print!

I agree with Erwin - the fox in this piece is lovely! Maybe you can do a fox-themed print for spring time?

Love the vibrant colors in your prints! How about sealife print? That is what popped in my head after seeing your photos in your previous entry.

Such a cute print! I'm in love with the colors, the birds and of course the little fox.

New print: My daughter just got a new dollhouse, and she can't stop playing with it! How about giving some little bear cubs a dollhouse (or treehouse?) of their own?

wow!! i'm so happy I found your work by accident! I totally think you should do something with a big moose!

Hello! lovely illustrations - you have a wonderful sense of color and pattern. I like how you intertwine things. That said, i am envisioning a print with turtles. Specifically a floating branch in water piled high with colorful turtles sunning themselves. what do you think?

The new print is wonderful.

I love the idea from Erwin: a robot family picnic would really be hilarious and fun. And I think it would be super-funny if the mom, dad, and son were robots, but the daughter were a cute human girl with pigtails!

Hi! Love your work and am especially fond of the bears. I am so happy to see your shop is full of prints!

I am very enamored of the little holes (doorways) one sees in the roots of trees, oh, and moss, too. It is also chilly spring here in upstate New York. moss is the only green thing and SO lovely. I am quite obesessed with it of late.

Paul K. your comment cracked me up!

Not excatly a robot family on a picnic but I did make a picture of a family where the mother was dressed as a robot and the father a wookie like bear character and they had a very sensible looking daughter. There was a caption which alluded to the daughter's psychological problems later in life due to having parents who were heavily into sci-fi.

I love the simple lines of your art! anything green would be wonderful right now as spring slowly emerges...

Gorgeous new print Helen. It is so colourful and beautifully balanced. You are good having so many giveaways.

How about a new bird print but with just a couple of larger birds together with lots of nice details. Hope you had a good Easter.

Just found you on Etsy, and I love all of them!! I especially love the Jelly Bean Birds with the bright background!

What about rabbits for a subject if you prefer animals. Their shapes can be worked in many ways, so it could be fun.

Love green- like kelly green right now and would love to see frogs! Seems like where there are frogs- there are kids playing! :-) Or turtles.

Love your things!

Such a cute print! Love the colours.

My suggestion would be something with a cat. Or bats. Or hedgehogs. :)

Lovely print. I would love to win it. My eldest daughter loves birds and this would look sweet in her bedroom.

Next subject? Zinnias. I just planted seeds and I cannot wait for them to sprout and bloom.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I think you should do something with a moose or a panda!

I love the little birdies and the fox. I think an under the sea print would be neat. My two 3 1/2 year old grandkids were here today and we water colored seahorses and starfish. We had lots of fun. We will have to try some birds next.

What lovely spring like colors. I am craving color right now.... everything is still so brown here. I think I need a winter in a warm place!!

Hey, I found your work through etsy and I think it's fantastic! I love the bright colours! I did some printmaking myself before and I know it's not easy to come up with such colourful and interesting pieces. The colour coordination is genius. I myself am thinking of playful elephants and silly zebras. What about you? Keep in touch! God bless!

I have written a childrens story called The forest tree bed.
Your beautiful illustration has inspired me to have try at illustrating it.

I love your renditions of animals, but they're mostly of furry mammals - how do you feel about scales? Maybe do a little print featuring our wonderous water friends?

How lovely, a perfect composition.

Oh my. My little Wren needs this for her big girl room!

I'm thinking Spring here, too, so I vote for some japanese cherry blossoms.

Or I'll throw out a totally selfish suggestion and vote for some more woodland creatures. My son's nursery is a woodland theme and I have been looking for the right print of some snuggly little hedgehogs.

I've just discovered your gorgeous prints... love them all!

I love the fox on this print - maybe you could create some more foxy prints for spring.

Hope you had a good Easter? You've been busy...having fun, methinks!

Now then. You just know that I ADORE your bear and forest prints. So, we've had birds and foxes...so how about deer? Go on... you know you want to. Then we'd have everything that sums up our forest...oh!!! A squirrel family!! Cheeky things in the trees....okay. I'll stop now. Glad I got that off my chest.

Thank you - and good night!

I am loving the new prints! The mom and kids, the owl and fox, sugar baby, beloved bears!
How about Canadian animals - moose, beaver, goose... they would get along nicely with the bears I think.

Melissa said...

What about snails? Or teal snails at that! Two of my most favorite things.

Haha! My word verification is STORKING... it's a sign. Storks please.

Anne said...

Yes! I second the Canadian animal idea. That would be so loverly!!
